1. Planning:

You might be poorly prepared, face surprising problems and miss the time limit and as a result, your reputation could be at risk. That can lead you to feel dumbfounded, unorganized, and stressed. You must understand the value of planning—it may not have instant results but don´t forget what it is costing you to not plan.

2. Priortizing:
Ask yourself: If you could choose one thing on the to-do list, which would be the most important? Or which activity would give you the most return on your investment of time?
After finding out the most important task, find the second most important, third, and so on, taking into account the time distribution for each. You can categorize your tasks into different groups and this can help you to prioritize, though most of your time should be invested in groups 1 & 2 below:
- Important and urgent: These tasks require a response in a short period. You have to do these tasks at any cost because they are urgent, but remember if you keep putting out fires you are not giving enough time for the other tasks that are main but not urgent.
- Important and not urgent: These ask for action, and while it does not need to be done today, it needs to be done sooner or later. This group is where you should be devoting most of your time.
- Urgent but not important: These tasks involve immediate action, but are not that much priority. These occur when you find yourself saying yes to too many things for others, or you find yourself being disrupted.
- Neither urgent/nor important: These are perhaps worth doing at some point but are often instances of busy work, often diverting such as cleaning your emails, cleaning your desk, and other diversions. These tasks give you the sense of being busy.
- Wasted time: Is your time better used up somewhere else? Is it value doing this task? Can it be passed on?
3. Performing:
